The Juan Maclean, real name John MacLean, is an American electronic musician and DJ. He is also a former member of the Providence, Rhode Island band Six Finger Satellite.
The Juan Maclean's second studio album, The Future Will Come, will be released April 14 by DFA Records. MacLean collaborated with LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang on the album.XLR8R: Future Perfect with The Juan MacLean (March 26, 2009)
History
MacLean was the guitarist and founding member of the Providence, Rhode Island band Six Finger Satellite. He recorded five albums with the band for Sub Pop Records. Following their break-up, MacLean quit the music business and relocated to New Hampshire where he became a teacher.Former Six Finger Satellite soundman James Murphy began asking MacLean to record tracks for his DFA label. MacLean released two singles, "By The Time I Get To Venus" and "You Can't Have It Both Ways" in 2002. He later released his debut album, Less Than Human, in July 2005.
