• The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion is an Alternative Rock-influenced Blues band from New York City whose combination of primitive blues and the gospel style shout-singing of frontman Jon Spencer has helped make them an underground favorite on the Rock music scene. While the band hasn't achieved a good deal of commercial success or recognition, they have built up a large and devoted following through a relentless touring schedule and collaborations with a number of high profile artists, including Beck, the Beastie Boys and Moby. In 2004, they changed their name to simply The Blues Explosion for the album Damaged.
