  • The Joker is a villain in the DC Universe and Batman's archenemy. He is Batman's most well-known villain, tangling with the caped crusader in more comic books, cartoons, and films than any other villain.
  • The Clown Prince of Crime

Though the idea of a criminal clown may not seem too fearsome, The Joker has proven to be a capable criminal and arguably Batman's most formidable opponent. In the comics, cartoons, and films, Joker has successfully terrorized Gotham City on more occasions than any other villain. What's more, he has hurt Batman more than all but one villain: in the A Death in the Family storyline, the Joker managed to kill the teen acting as Batman's sidekick Robin, Jason Todd. While he has no genuine powers per se, it can be said that his madness is a kind of power. In the Wonder Woman storyline called Paradise Lost, the demigod Deimos, the god of dementia, attempted to posses The Joker's body. Unprepared for what he would find inside The Joker's mind, he was overpowered by The Joker and his godlike powers were controlled by The Joker for a brief time.
