The Jackson 5 were a popular American pop music vocal group that consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlo and Michael Jackson. Their music was a mixture of R&B, soul, funk and Doo-Wop. With hits such as "ABC", "I Want You Back" and "I'll Be There" (which was later covered by Mariah Carey), they were one of the first black groups to appeal equally to white audiences. Michael Jackson went on to have an extremely successful solo career.
On June 26, 2009, the "King of Pop," Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50. He had allegedly suffered from a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home. Medical professionals unsuccesfully attempted to revive the pop star for over an hour. Autopsy results were pending as of June 29, 2009.
