The film The Hauting of Molly Hartley follows its seventeen-year-old title character who carries deep emotional and mental scars from a stabbing attack carried out by her mother. Hartley tries to move on by getting a fresh start at a new school, but is haunted by nightmares of her mother's attack. Ultimately, she learns that her mother was trying to kill her to prevent her from being overcome by the devil — a life that was preordained for her.
