The Good, the Bad and the Queen

  • The Good, the Bad and the Queen are an Alternative Rock band led by frontman Damon Albarn. Albarn is also involved with the bands Blur & Gorillaz. Though the band is officially unnamed and The Good, the Bad, and the Queen is the name of their album, the band is usually referred to by their only album's title.
  • Career

While mixing the tracks for the Gorillaz album Demon Days, singer Damon Albarn decided to revive an abandoned project: an album entirely about life in London. With guitarist Simon Tong, Albarn recruited retired The Clash bassist Paul Simonon, drummer Tony Allen, and producer Danger Mouse to work on the project. Initially touring in England to promote the album, the band gained critical attention quickly, culminating in the release of the album to rave reviews. In the following weeks, Albarn insisted that the band was unnamed, a claim that was largely ignored and dismissed. Eventually Albarn would announce a second album for the unnamed project.
