Background
The Good Shepherd is a drama written by Eric Roth and directed by Robert De Niro. The film is loosely based on the life of James Jesus Angleton, who was the Chief of the Central Intelligence Agency. The film tracks the rise of Edward Wilson, played by Matt Damon, through the birth and evolution of the CIA and the various operations and controversies surrounding the agency. The film documents how the power given to Wilson inevitably corrupts him and destroys his family and personal life.Cast
