    The Godfather II is inspired by the 1974 film of the same name, and many memorable scenes are recreated in the game.

    In the game, a mob meeting gone awry leaves the player in an unexpected position of power. In Don's View, players will micro-manage operations in their territory using strategy gameplay mechanics. As the new Don of the New York Corleone outfit, the player strives to defend his turf and wrest control of businesses from his competitors in New York, Havana and Miami. Each new business results in bonuses like armored cars, brass knuckles and bulletproof vests.     To assist the new Don maintain control of his territory, the player can recruit various crewman, each with different specialties like safe-cracking, arson, engineer or medic. These phases of the game play like a typical action title, with missions to complete, weapons to collect and upgrades to obtain.

    The game features a full-featured multiplayer option. Demolition Mode requires players to use their demolition specialty to destroy key enemy assault points. Players seek out and crack safes throughout the map in Safe Cracker Mode.
