Synopsis
The Glass Menagerie is a "memory play," since it is entirely a recollection told by character Tom Wingfield.
Suffering from The Great Depression, Tom's mother, Amanda, works in a factory and spends much of her time trying to find a suitor for his sister, Laura.
Laura seems to care more for her glass menagerie than anything else, but when Tom brings his friend Jim home for dinner, Laura falls in love. Unfortunately, the family's hopes crumble upon learning Jim is already engaged.
