The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was an Emmy-winning sitcom about a young man from Philadelphia who is sent to live with his relatives in the wealthy Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles. Airing on the NBC network between 1990 and 1996, the show starred rapper (and soon to be movie star) Will Smith in his breakout role as the fish out of water teenager who must adjust to life in a new environment. The show was a major success and helped launch Smith's career as an actor.
