Plot Synopsis
Eddie (based on the author's real uncle) dies and goes to Heaven. There he meets five people whose lives he has touched: the Blue Man, Eddie's former Army Captain, a woman named Ruby, his dead wife Marguerite, and a young girl named Talia whose death he was responsible for. Eddie returns to Earth and heals the wounds of his past. After he does, he passes away. Talia returns to escort his soul to Heaven.Critical Reception
The Five People You Meet in Heaven was a selection of Oprah's Book Club, and Oprah Winfrey ultimately produced the television movie of the same name.
