The Filter is an online entertainment discovery engine that provides users with recommendations on music, movies, television and other types of entertainment based on their specific tastes and preferences. Conceived by cutting-edge musician (and former Genesis singer) Peter Gabriel, The Filter is looking to expand upon existing recommendation sites - such as Pandora, Flixster and Last.fm - by supplying users with suggestions across multiple types of media. While the site is currently still in Beta testing mode, a public launch is scheduled for late April 2008.
