The Fifth Element is a 1997 Science Fiction film by French director Luc Besson that stars Bruce Willis as a recently divorced taxicab driver (and former Special Forces operative) Korben Dallas who must protect the Fifth Element (Milla Jovovich as the "Perfect Being" LeeLoo) from evil forces in order to protect the universe from complete destruction. Along the way, Korben gets help from an unusual cast of characters, including Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) and celebrity talk radio host Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker). The movie includes strong elements of French comic storytelling and was largely a French production effort - even though the film is set in a futuristic version of New York City.
