The Fiery Furnaces are a brother-and-sister indie rock band based in New York City that was formed in 2000. Their musical style is extremely experimental, and they are known for rapidly switching both tempo, instrumentation, and genre multiple times within a single song. For the most part, their music is influenced by American blues and folk music. The Fiery Furnaces' lyrics are generally inventive and witty while also versatile in form, from lengthy ballads to conventional pop songs.
