• Main Characters

  • Blair Warner: A spoiled, wealthy, beautiful debutante who would often flaunt her priviledge before the other girls. Played by Lise Welchel.
  • Natalie Green: A boisterous, happy-go-lucky and slightly overweight girl who often displayed the greatest amount of sympathy and kindness to the other girls. Played by Mindy Cohn.
  • Tootie Ramsey: The youngest of the four principal characters, Tootie is a chatty and slightly mischievous girl, her naivety often got her into trouble and acted as a catalyst for many of the show's plots. Played by Kim Fields.
  • Jo Polniaczek: Tough and tomboyish, Jo was the least priviledged of the four and had to work to pay for tuition at their private school. Despite her tough exterior, Jo often proved to be the most sensitive of the four girls. Played by Nancy McKeon
  • Edna Garrett: The housemother of the dorm the four girls shared, Mrs. Garrett provided guidance and a motherly influence to the girls during their many hard times and personal crises. Played by Charlotte Rae
