The Elephant Man is a biographical film about a 19th century Englishman born with a disfiguring disease.
Plot Summary
The story follows John Merrick, a deformed side-show freak, who is rescued from his enslavement by Dr. Frederick Treves. Treves is able to secure a room in a hospital and provide a comfortable environment for Merrick. In the absence of the cruelty he has grown accustomed to deal with, Merrick reveals his true personality and impressive intellect.
