  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a fantasy role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fourth in the Elder Scrolls video game series.

  • Storyline

    Oblivion is a continuation of the previous open-ended Elder Scrolls game. It focuses on a former prisoner drawn into Daedric Lord's plan to invade the mortal realm of Tamriel. While exploring the game world, the story line may be ignored, delayed or completely turned off.

  • Gameplay

    Oblivion begins with Emperor Uriel Septim VII, who is fleeing a group of assassins. The Emperor releases a prisoner he believes he met in a dream. Eventually this prisoner is left to defend and protect the Emperor. The Emperor breaks a covenant, allowing for multiple doors to the Oblivion to open. Having multiple doors opened causes a Daedric invasion. In order to close the multiple doors, a person of the Septim bloodline must retake the throne and re-light the Dragonfires in the Imperial City.

  • Expansions

    One expansion pack has been released for the PC and Xbox 360 versions. The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, was released on March 27, 2007. It included over 30 hours of additional game-play with new quests and monsters.
