  • Career

Originally formed as the backing band for singer Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles decided to go out on their own and eventually signed with David Geffen's newly created Asylum Records. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1972, produced the band's first hit song "Take it Easy", as well as the songs "Witchy Woman" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling." After a string of hit albums, the band released what would be their best known (and best selling) album to date, 1976's Hotel California.
  • Solo Careers

After breaking up in 1980, some of the members of The Eagles went on to have successful solo careers. Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey all recorded successful solo albums and continued to record and perform until the Eagles reunion in 1994.
  • Reunion

After a 14 year hiatus, the original members of the band reunited for a reunion tour and live album titled Hell Freezes Over. The band has continued to record together since then and released the album Long Road Out of Eden, which was their first new album of original material since 1979.
