The Door in the Floor is a dramatic film written and directed by Tod Williams. It is based on John Irving's novel A Widow for One Year and stars Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger.
Plot Summary

Ted (Jeff Bridges) and Marion Cole (Kim Basinger) struggle to rebuild their marriage, which has become tarnished with infidelity and emotional distance after the tragic death of their two teenage sons. Ted hires a young man, Eddie (Jon Foster) to be his summer assistant and as Eddie becomes a part of the Coles' lives, he unknowingly teaches them about themselves and their relationship.
