  • Plot Synopsis

Based on the original diary by Anne Frank, the film highlights how she and many others are forced into hiding in order to avoid the recent escalation of Nazi persecutions of the Jewish people. The owner of a condiment factory, Kraler (Douglas Spencer) and his assistant Miep (Dodie Heath) set up an area for hiding in the attic above the factory, where Anne Frank and her family take refuge. Another family, the Van Daans (with Academy Award-winning Richard Beymer as Peter Van Daan), join them, and are later accompanied by the dentist Dussel (Ed Wynn). Together, they live in hiding from the Nazis, where they hope the Allies will liberate Holland... And to survive.

"Remains a potent statement about the horrors of war and a valid testament to the girl who could answer them by writing, 'I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart." -Peter Canavese, Groucho Reviewshttp://www.grouchoreviews.com/reviews/3465
