The Descendents are a seminal punk band that formed in Southern California in the late 1970s and helped influenced a generation of young punk bands with their mixture of Punk aggression and melodic sophistication. While the band never received a great deal of commercial success, they are often cited as one of the bands that helped develop the pop-punk sound that became popular during the 1990s.
