The Crown is a short documentary that premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Chronicling a beauty pageant that takes place annually at a Columbian women's prison, the film follows contestants as they are chosen from each cell block to vie for the crown. Celebrity judges and media are brought in for the event and evening gowns are donated. The highly publicized affair is unique in that the winner is chosen amongst thieves, guerillas, and hired killers.
