The Clientele is an English indie pop band that formed in 1991. Their music was initially known for its heavy use of reverb effects in both instrumental and vocal parts, but their later releases shied away from that technique. Their lyrics often draw from literary sources, chiefly from 20th century Surrealism, which lends a sense of melancholy to their music.
