  • The Chi-Lites are an R&B and soul group, originally led by singer-songwriter Eugene Record, whose high, heartfelt vocals became the group's signature. The Chi-Lites (named for their hometown of Chicago) made their debut in the 1968, but did not become popular until the 1970's when their wistful hits "Have You Seen Her?" and "Oh Girl" climbed the charts. Record left the group in 1977, and though his performances remain radio favorites, the group continued without him on the oldies live circuit. The Chi-Lites were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005, the same year that Record died of Cancer.
