The Catcher in the Rye Quotes

  • The only novel-length story written by J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye is a story detailing 48 hours in the life of Holden Caulfield. The character is perceived by many as an innocent adrift in a troubled world, while others have blamed the character for inspiring discord in adolescents. For that reason, The Catcher in the Rye has been one of the most banned books in American schools.
