  • The Butterfly Effect is a 2004 science fiction drama, about a man attempting to change his life by altering the past.
  • Plot

    As a child Evan Treborn (Logan Lerman) grew up with occasional black outs in which he would lose control and do strange or violent acts. He experienced a stressful youth with several occasions in which he witnessed violence and death. His father (Callum Keith Rennie) is mentally unstable and is in an asylum. His mother (Melora Walters), concerned by the black outs and afraid he will end up like his father, takes him to see a psychologist who suggest keeping a journal.

    As an adult Even (Ashton Kutcher) finds his childhood journals and begins reading through them. He can return to moments from his childhood via the journal and alter his life thus causing the black outs he used to experience. With each alteration his life gets more and more out of control.
