The Breakfast Club is a 1985 teen film that was written and directed by John Hughes. The story follows a day in the life of five teenagers from very different high school social cliques, as they spend a long afternoon in detention. The cast includes Emilio Estevez, Paul Gleason, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. The cast features actors and actresses that were later known as The Brat Pack.
The Offenders
Each of the following five students were sent to serve out detention on a Saturday afternoon:
- Molly Ringwald played the princess, "Claire Standish," who was punished for skipping school to go shopping.
- Emilio Estevez played the jock, "Andrew Clark," who got detention for taping another student's buttocks together in a prank.
- Anthony Michael Hall played the brain, "Brian Johnson," who brought a flare gun to school.
- Judd Nelson played the troublemaker, "John Bender," who was no stranger to detention.
- Ally Sheedy played the basket case, "Allison Reynolds," who claimed she did nothing wrong.
