The 2004 action-adventure film The Bourne Supremacy is loosely based on the popular 1980 Robert Ludlum novel of the same title. It is also a sequel to the 2002 film The Bourne Identity.

Plot
The film continues two years after where The Bourne Identity left off, with amnesiac CIA secret agent Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon, still on the run. After hiding in India with girlfriend Marie, played by Franka Potente, the couple is found by a CIA sniper. A short chase scene follows, with Marie bring shot and their car going over a bridge into a river. The sniper and the CIA believe that Bourne is dead, and call of their manhunt. Continuing to discover more about his past, Bourne travels to Italy. He deliberately uses his Jason Bourne passport in an attempt to lure the CIA to his location, in hopes they will hold the key to his true identity. -
