Plot
The Blind Side tells the real-life story of Michael Oher, now a professional football player, including his childhood and collegiate years. The film finds Oher as a child, being shipped from foster home to foster home and running away from many of them. His mother, who deals with addiction, is no help, barely raising Oher and his many siblings in the projects.
Oher is taken in by a rich family, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, and placed in a private Christian school. While their community shuns the decision, the Touhys help Oher raise his grades, allowing him to participate in sports, specifically track and football. Oher becomes a high school football standout, earning the attention of several top NCAA Football coaches, all who attempt to recruit him to their schools. When Oher selects the University of Mississippi, where the Thuohys attended and are still heavily involved, the NCAA opens an investigation into possible tampering.
