The Beverly Hillbillies was a television show about a poor family who moved to Beverly Hills, California after striking it rich when they discover "black gold" (oil) on their land. The show was eventually canceled along with Hee Haw and Green Acres in an effort by CBS to bring more urban and fresh material to its viewers.
