The Beta Band

The Beta Band was a critically acclaimed Scottish band that combined elements of Folk, Rock and even Hip-Hop into their eclectic sound.

The Beta Band released their first EP Champion Versions in 1997 and garnered praise from music critics and fans alike. Their freshman effort and self-titled album did not receive the same sort of adulation. Even after the band was featured in such movies as High Fidelity and Randall and Hopkirk, the band never matched the success of their early recordings.

The Beta Band disbanded in 2004. Each of the members went on to their own solo projects. In 2005, Gordon Anderson, Robin Johns, and John Maclean formed a new band called The Aliens.
