The Benchwarmers is a film about a group of adult, eccentric friends, played by Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder,who start up a baseball team to play against the town's little league bullies. Their purpose is to force the elite league to open up their registration to players of all skill levels, and to also get revenge against the cruel bullies, both young and old, who run the league.
Background
The Benchwarmers was directed by Dennis Dugan. It was produced by Happy Madison Productions, which is a production company founded by Adam Sandler. The film stars frequent Happy Madison collaborators Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, and David Spade, who were all part of the cast of Saturday Night Live. The film was generally panned by critics and made over $58 million dollars at the Box Office.
