    Grant Wahl is the senior editor of Sports Illustrated. In his book, The Beckham Experiment, he tells us how David Beckham, "The Golden Boy of Soccer", came to conquer the United States. Beckham signed a five year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy under the direction of his manager Simon Fuller. Grant Wahl tells us what happened in the inner circle of the experiment. We see the relationship of the team mates and Beckham and what the celebrity status can do or cannot do to sports. Wahl also explains how Beckham holds his position as captain of the team and what leads to the failures of the team. He also explores how Beckham's management conducts a shadow takeover of the Galaxy.
