Beatles fans will soon have a new way to experience the band's music: as part of an interactive video game titled The Beatles: Rock Band.Edge-Online: Beatles Game Dated, Priced (March 5, 2009) The first game details were released at Micrsoft's 2009 E3 press conference by the two surviving Beatles: Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. Dhani Harrison, Olivia Harrison, and Yoko Ono also made brief appearances on stage.
The game will support three singers at one time, allowing them to harmonize. It was also announced that individual tracks and entire albums will be available post launch as downloadable content. The first album that will be available for purchase will be Abbey Road. The Beatles track "All You Need is Love" will be available for download exclusively from Xbox Live, with all proceeds donated to the Doctors Without Borders charity.

The game is not just an expansion, but a full Rock Band title. It was originally stated that the game would not be a Rock Band title, but rather an independent game created by Harmonix and MTV. The Price
The Beatles: Rock Band will be released on September 9, 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3, and the Wii. All three versions will cost $59.99 for the standalone game, even though Wii games have historically cost only $49.99. Official The Beatles: Rock Band guitars for each console will also be available for $99.99.
