The Bartimaeus Trilogy

Categories: Books & Authors | Books
  • Set in an alternate history to our own, the The Bartimaeus Trilogy tells its story through the eyes of three characters. The books conceive that magic, magicians, and demons have been active throughout history and have thus radically altered it. In the story's alternate history, a type of feudal society exists, where the people are mainly of two classes: A governing class of Magicians and the commoners, who make up the rest of society.
  • Main Characters

    • Bartimaeus: A five-thousand year old djinni, a spirit of approximately mid-level power.
    • Nathaniel/John Mandrake: A magician who goes by the name "John Mandrake" to all but Bartimaeus and Kitty.
    • Kitty Jones: A commoner who is aligned with the "Resistence," a group which seeks to end the oppressive rule of the magicians over commoners.
