Background

The Bank Job was directed by Roger Donaldson who directed the films Cocktail starring Tom Cruise, Cadillac Man with Robin Williams, Species with Natasha Henstridge and The Recruit with Al Pacino. The Film was loosely based on actual events that occurred in 1971 when a bank in London was robbed. At the time, nobody was arrested for the crime and the stolen items were never recovered. The film received generally positive reviews and earned $29,732,923 at the North American Box Office.
