The Bad Sleep Well

In the 1960 Japanese film The Bad Sleep Well, legendary director Akira Kurosawa mixes the themes of Hamlet into the context of the notoriously strict and corrupt world of Japanese corporate culture.

Kurosawa's Go-To Leading Man

The lead role of Koichi Nishi in The Bad Sleep Well was played by one of Kurosawa's most trusted go-to actors, Toshiro Mifune. Mifune also starred in some of the director's most beloved efforts, including Rashomon, Seven Samurai and Yojimbo.
