The Amityville Horror is a film starring James Brolin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger. The movie is based off the book The Amityville Horror, about a house that has a demonic presence in Amityville, New York. The movie has spun seven sequels and was remade in 2005 starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George and Philip Baker Hall.

Plot
This movie is based on a true story that took place in 1975 when married couple George and Kathleen Lutz moved into a new house with their three children. Soon after moving in strange things began happening and they realized the house had demonic inhabitants. Little did they know that 13 months earlier Ronald DeFeo, Jr. had shot and killed six members of his family in the house. The family moved out after being in the house for only 28 days. Popular scenes include thousands of flies in the sewing room and a pig with glowing red eyes staring in through the windows.
