On the fifth episode of the 13th season of The Amazing Race, teams made their way from Auckland, New Zealand to Cambodia. After suffering numerous setbacks, Aja Benton and Ty White were eliminated from the competition after all the other teams. The Amazing Race 13 Episode 5
- Seven teams remain, who will be eliminated next?
- Ken and Tina will depart at 6:03 am to Cambodia. Once there, they must find a roadside gas station and they will begin this leg with $98.00.
- Terrence and Sarah leave at 8:19 am. Kelly and Christy leave at 9:32 am.
- Ken and Tina book an afternoon flight, there are two flight options and they realize Terence and Sarah will probably make that flight.
- But wait! Terence has just been pulled over! He was doing 117 kilometers in a 100 zone. He got a speeding ticket!
- Toni and Dallas depart at 10:15 am. Toni is ready to race smarter, not harder.
- Nick and Starr depart at 11:34 am. Her arm isn't broken but it still hurts.
- Terence and Sarah may not be able to make the first flight. It may be closed. After a quick call from the attendant, they might make it! He's whining about how fast she's running! They made it!
- Andrew and Dan depart at 12:44 pm.
- Kelly and Christy arrive at the airport and book the second flight. Toni and Dallas join them. Kelly and Christy are making fun of Dallas saying that his hair makes him look like Teen Wolf.
- Aja and Ty are the last to depart at 3:04 pm. He says he is getting closer with her and wouldn't trade her in on a Porsche or anything.
- Andrew and Dan are trying to get on the second flight. It may be closed for booking.
- Aja and Ty are excited at the thought of catching up to Andrew and Dan and think this would put them back in the game.
- Dreams vanished, Andrew and Dan will have to wait for the next flight. Ty and Aja will be on the same flight.
- Andrew and Dan head to the ticket counter to try and make the second flight even though they were told no. They scored! Toni, Dallas, Kelly and Christy are on the same flight.
- Aja and Ty are on the final flight.
- Everyone but Aja and Ty caught up and they are all on the same flight to Singapore!
- Nick and Starr are followed by Toni and Dallas in the cabs. Ken and Tina have fallen to fifth place followed by Andrew and Dan.
- Toni and Dallas arrived at a hotel, not a gas station. Kelly and Christy's driver took them to the wrong gas station.
- Nick and Starr arrive at the correct gas station first. They must hand crank the gas pumps with 25 liters of fuel to earn their next clue.
- Kelly and Christy's cab driver has no idea what to do.
- Nick and Starr complete the task and earn their next clue. They now must hop in the back of a hay-lined truck and proceed to the harbor. They will take a boat to a restaurant in the middle of the lake to find their next clue.
- Toni and Dallas are the second to arrive at the gas station, followed by Terence and Sarah, then Andrew and Dan, then Ken and Tina.
- Andrew and Dan can't get their pump to work.
- Toni and Dallas are on their way to the harbor. Andrew and Dan still can't get their pump to work.
- Kelly and Christy arrive after their gas station. Ken and Tina leave in third place.
- Ty and Aja finally land at the airport. They seem to be in good spirits.
- Kelly and Christy are on their way to the harbor.
- Andrew and Dan finally got their pump to work!
- Terence and Sarah pass Ken and Tina in the trucks. They have caught up to Dallas and Toni then quickly pass them! Ken and Tina then pass Dallas and Toni also!
- Ty and Aja arrive at the gas station and he makes quick work of the pumps.
- Starr makes her driver stop because she thinks they are lost. He hollers at her to get back in because the other teams are coming. Nick and Starr are now in fourth place after her little stop.
- They arrive at the boats, Terence and Sarah are the first on board. Nick and Starr are in third place now, after passing Toni and Dallas. Ken and Tina get passed by Toni and Dallas. Their driver is going super slow!
- Christy is broken-hearted after seeing the level of poverty, but admires the work ethic of the people.
- Terence and Sarah are the first to spot the island restaurant, but their boat broke down! Nick and Starr are back in first! Sarah looks ready to barf as she sees all the teams pass her.
- Nick and Starr are the first to get the detour clue. In "Village Life", teams will use their boats to pick up three different items from different places in the floating town. In "Village Work" teams will take their boats to fishing grounds and get in the murky water, then get two fish out of cages.
- Nick and Starr choose "Work." Toni and Dallas choose "Work." Ken and Tina choose "Life." Terence and Sarah choose "Life."
- Dallas is grossed out by the murky water. Ken and Tina have their first item.
- Terence and Sarah's boat is fixed, they are back in the game.
- Ken and Tina have their second item.
- Kelly and Christy see Ken and Tina shooting hoops and decide to stop instead of looking for their clue. Not the brightest bulbs in the house.
- Andrew and Dan pass Kelly and Christy because of their basketball adventures.
- Nick and Starr are the first team to complete the detour. They must now take a ride in the back of a 'tuk-tuk'. (It's a motorcycle pulling a small covered trailer.) They will ride to Angkor Wat, a 12th century symbol of Cambodia.
- Ken and Tina are the second to complete the detour, followed by Toni and Dallas.
- Aja and Ty have arrive at the detour. They choose "Work."
- Time for a roadblock. One person must go on an exploration of the temple for the chamber of echoes and thump their chest in a specific spot to cause an echo.
- Tina is going for her team, Dallas is going for his. Terence for his. Nick is asking for help from the tourists to find the room and he's able to find and complete the task quickly. He must now go with Starr to Bayon Temple, the pit stop.
- Nick tucked the clue under his shirt so the other teams wouldn't know he found it.
- Tina is so lost it's not even funny. Dallas found it! He's on the way to the pit stop. Terence is on his way also. Tina walks right in it then right back out, not realizing it.
- Nick and Starr are the first to arrive. They won 3 night trip for two in St. John including snorkeling and sailing.
- Andrew is looking for the echo.
- Toni and Dallas are team number two to arrive at the pitstop, followed by Terence and Sarah.
- Andrew found the hall of echos with the help of a monk.
- Ken and Tina are team number four, followed by Kelly and Christy.
- It would seem that Ty and Aja are right behind Andrew and Dan.
- Andrew and Dan are team number six at the pit stop.
- Aja and Ty are the last team to arrive and they have been eliminated from the Amazing Race.
- Ty wants to move to Los Angeles to be with Aja and give their relationship 100%. Aja is happy to be with him.
- Terence and Sarah received a 30 minute penalty for the speeding ticket, it will be applied on the next leg of the race. (That just doesn't seem fair. They all speed, he just got caught. He'll have to pay the ticket and lost time because of it. And why not apply the time now, it may have affected the outcome of this leg! No fair either way!)
- On the next episode we can look forward to seeing Dallas make a move on Starr. She says there is an attraction there. Ken finally snaps at Tina after all her nit-picking.
