On the second episode of the 13th season of The Amazing Race, teams made their way from Salvador, Brazil to Fortaleza, Brazil. The last team to arrive and be eliminated from the competition was Anthony Marotta and Stephanie Kacandes. The Amazing Race 13 Episode 2
- 60 Minutes is running over. This drives me crazy! It's 11 minutes over, and the story is of Tesla Roadster's. Our owner at Mahalo, Jason Calacanis, drives one! Interesting stuff!
- Ok, I'm over it. Get on with The Amazing Race already!
- Can't wait for the season premiere of CSI on the 13th! (Sorry, I'm watching the promo commercial on CBS)
- Finally!! 60 Minutes is over, thirty minutes late!
- Ten teams remain, who will be eliminated next?
- We start the next leg of the race from Salvador, Brazil. Terence and Sarah are arguing because he doesn't want her talking to anyone but him.
- Nick and Starr are the first to depart, as they were first in the last leg of the race.
- They will fly 645 miles to Fortaleza, Brazil. Once they land, they will travel by taxi to a small town there and look for their next clue. They will begin their race with $125.00.
- Starr is nervous because the taxi driver is going very fast.
- Ken and Tina are next to leave, followed by Terence and Sarah. She slams the trunk of the taxi on his head, Terence says he's bleeding. He's whining again. Make it stop.
- Mark and Bill leave next. Mark is happy that he's not doing this with his girlfriend, this way he can be more real.
- Tina and Ken arrive at the airport, the earliest flight they can find leaves at 11:30am. (It's about 5 in the morning.)
- Kelly and Christy leave next.
- Ken and Tina find a flight that leaves at 6:45 am, but there's only one seat. They agree to fly stand-by.
- Toni and Dallas are on the way to the airport.
- The early flight switched to a larger flight, Ken/Tina and Nick/Starr have seats on the flight.
- Terence is upset that Ken/Tina and Nick/Starr are working together. Sarah is upset that they didn't say hi.
- Their is free seating on the plane, first at the gate gets to choose first.
- Andrew and Dan are leaving, followed by Aja and Ty.
- Kelly and Christy arrived at the airport.
- Ken and Tina go to the money exchange counter after buying their tickets, thinking they will be allowed to board first.
- Anthony and Stephanie are on the way to the airport. In last place and finally headed to the airport are Marisa and Brooke.
- Kelly and Christy are in line to purchase their tickets. Tina rushes over to them and lets the girls know that she got a bigger plane so they could all be on the same flight. Neither Kelly or Christy believe she got a bigger plane for everyone.
- Toni and Dallas got tickets for the early flight.
- Tina tells Ty and Aja about the plane. They don't believe it either.
- Marisa and Brooke made the early flight, they give the attendant candy as a bribe.
- Tina still thinks because they checked in first she should be allowed to board first. Terence, along with Mark and Bill are getting sick and tired of Tina. (Me too.)
- Tina cut in line in front of everyone. Terence tells Ken that he's sorry for raising his voice to his wife, Ken laughs and kisses Terence on the cheek.
- Looks like everyone made it on the early flight.
- Terence and Sarah are the first in a cab, followed by Kelly and Christy, then Anthony and Dan.
- Next in the cabs are Toni and Dallas. (Stephanie and Anthony are in one, but it won't start!)
- Aja and Ty are in the car.
- Anthony is trying to push-start the cab.
- Anthony and Stephanie are now in last place, with Tina and Ken right in front of them.
- Terence and Sarah are the first to find the clue. Teams must pick a dunebuggy and drive them up the beach to the Barraca D Manoel to receive their next clue.
- Stephanie feels bad at the way the people live where they are. It's making them much more appreciative of what they have at home.
- Ty and Aja head down to the beach and miss the clue. Ty asks Brooke and Marisa where they found their clue, the girls don't help at all as they answer "back where we started."
- Ken and Tina are up to seventh place.
- Andrew and Dan along with Aja and Ty finally find the clue.
- Terence and Sarah find the detour. In this detour, teams must choose between two tasks. The first task, "Beach It," teams must travel up a beach and choose a boat with a 2-man crew, then move the 244 lb vessel across the beach and into the water. In "Docket", teams travel to a place where they have containers (like on the back of an 18-wheeler big rig). They will get access to a computer and will have to match a code from the clue to a code on the computer. They'll use the code to find the section of the shipyard their container is located in.
- Terence, Sarah, Kelly, Christy, Toni and Dallas pick "Beach It."
- Mark and Bill go for "Docket". They don their hard-hats and start digging through computer codes. Marisa and Brooke are heading over to join the boys, as they don't think they are strong enough to push a boat.
- Ken and Tina will "Beach It" along with Andrew and Dan, Nick and Starr, Aja and Ty.
- Brooke and Marisa went to the wrong location! They arrived at "Beach It" and decided to go ahead and try it.
- Mark and Bill found the code, and laugh because computers are their thing. Bill says in his best Yoda voice, "Do or do not, there is no try."
- Kelly and Christy notice that Sarah and Terence are ahead of them. They are upset that Terence is hollering at Sarah about her performance.
- Marisa and Brooke are moving slow.
- Anthony and Stephanie just got their detour clue, still in last place.
- Mark and Bill are trying to find the correct container. There are hundreds in the lot.
- Terence and Sarah are the first to complete the detour. They must travel by taxi to Parque De Vaquejada where they will find their next clue. (They have no clue where the taxi's are.)
- Nick and Starr made up time in the detour and finish second. They follow the arrows to the taxi's, while Terence and Sarah head in the wrong direction.
- Marisa and Brooke complete their task, but seem to be confused. They want to know where the container is. (Duh, it's the task that you wanted to complete, but can't read directions and ended up at the other task.)
- Mark and Bill find their container with the clue.
- Terence and Sarah are way off in the boon docks looking for a cab.
- Marisa and Brooke find a flag in the dirt and decide to dig, looking for a container. (lol)
- Toni and Dallas are in fifth place and just got their clue. Marisa and Brooke are still digging.
- Ken wants Tina to cross a small marsh area to head to the cabs. She accuses him of yelling at her and promises to walk in the opposite direction if he ever yells at her again. They are in third place.
- Terrence thinks since they are in a small town they should get ice cream. Sarah is irate as she sees Mark and Bill pass them in the taxi.
- Ken and Tina see Terence and Sarah, she wants to offer them a ride. He tells the taxi driver to go. Tina says that he needs to think about if they are ever broke down and need help from another team.
- Terence is standing in one spot screaming. No words, just a loud yell of frustration. (Why don't they go back and find the flags? Staying in the same place isn't getting them anything. Not even ice cream.)
- Toni and Dallas stop and tell Terence and Sarah where to go for the taxi's.
- Brooke and Marisa are whining about how hard this is. Ty and Aja are excited about passing them.
- Kelly and Christy are still digging.
- As Ty and Aja finish with the boats, Kelly and Christy realize they messed up the detour clues and are ready to find the cabs.
- Terence and Sarah finally find the cabs.
- Anthony and Stephanie are still in last place. (And they seem to be handling it very well.)
- Mark and Bill are the first to a roadblock. A roadblock is a task that only one person can do. In this roadblock, one member of each team will have to search for a clue in plain sight. The clue will be on wall full of ads, they must pick out which one is a destination, not an ad. They will write down the destination and give it to the painter.
- Nick and Starr's cab driver has stopped to ask for directions.
- Bill wants to write down every single thing on the wall and show it all to the painter.
- Mark goes through the whole list with the painter and finally shows him the correct answer and gets his next clue.
- Time for a pitstop! The teams must travel through the coastal town of Cidade Da Crianca, an oasis built for the cities children. The last team to arrive may be eliminated.
- Tina guesses correctly after following Bill's lead of writing everything down. As she screams with joy, Toni, still over at the wall says "Oh God" and shakes her head at Tina. (Tina doesn't see this, but it sure was funny.)
- While at a stoplight, Mark and Bill ask Ken and Tina to "Let the fat boys take this one." Ken laughs and says that he has to make "momma" happy.
- Kelly and Christy let their taxi go and head for the clue. The moment they read the clue, they realize the should have never let the taxi go.
- Mark and Bill are laughing about being in a foot race with a professional football player.
- As they get out of the cars, Tina asks Ken to take her bags so she can run faster. Either Mark or Bill is stopped as one of their bags just ripped open.
- Ken and Tina are the first to the pit stop. They have won an off-road vehicle.
- Mark and Bill are team number two. Tina gives them a high-five.
- Tina says that she and Ken need to work on their communication skills, but after stepping first on the mat gives her hope. Mark tells them "If you coming in first place helps out your relationship, well then screw the ATV's." Group hug!
- Anthony and Dan want to write down everything and want to show him the whole list.
- Nick asks Sarah to work with him, then all of a sudden leaves her in the dust to go talk with Dan. Sarah is not happy that Nick left her to figure out the clue by herself after asking her to work with him.
- Kelly and Christy are done, but their taxi is gone. Andrew and Stephanie have caught up at the detour.
- Terence and Sarah made up time, they are now in fifth place, but no cab in sight. Toni and Dallas are on their way to the pit stop along with Ty and Aja.
- Brooke, Nick, Anthony and Dan are very flustered staring at the wall trying to figure out the clue. Nick thinks they need to take the words and mix them up!
- Terence/Sarah, Aja/Ty and Toni/Dallas all make the pitstop (in that order, seconds apart.) Group hugs and high-fives are around.
- Terence is very impressed with Toni and Dallas for helping them.
- Christy and Kelly still can't find a cab.
- Nick writes all the stuff down from on the wall, right before he runs to the painter Nick tells Andrew that if he gets it right he will come back and let Andrew know. After Nick gets the answer, he doesn't look back and hops in the cab. (He says there was no benefit to going back.)
- Kelly and Christy finally find their cab.
- Andrew wrote the whole list out, they get their clue.
- Marisa and Brooke got the answer right.
- Nick and Starr are team number six, followed by Kelly and Christy.
- Anthony is last at getting the clue correct.
- Andrew and Dan are team number eight, followed by Marisa and Brooke.
- Anthony and Stephanie are last to arrive, they have been eliminated from The Amazing Race.
- Stephanie believes this was a wonderful experience they will never forget. Anthony is thankful for his health, his parents, his looks and having Stephanie.
- Next week, altitude sickness takes it's toll. Bill, Aja, and Toni are seen not looking well. Ken impresses his wife wrestling. (He's in a costume similar to that of The Incredibles.)
