The Amazing Race is an Emmy Award-winning reality show on CBS that sends contestants around the world completing tasks to avoid elimination. The show recently finished up its 14th season with Tammy Jih and Victor Jih taking the first prize. The show begins with between 10 and 12 teams starting the race at a specific United States location. They are given a certain amount of cash for each leg of the race, plus credit cards that can be used to purchase airline tickets. They must book their own flights and arrive at specific locations around the world. Along the way, they have to complete several tasks such as road blocks and detours. A road block is a task only one team member may perform while a detour gives teams the choice between two separate tasks. Most tasks reflect real life duties of people in the areas in which they are traveling. After all tasks are completed, they head to a pit-stop for a mandatory 12 hour rest period. Generally the last team to check in at the pit-stop is eliminated from the competition. The team that finishes the final leg of the race first, wins the one million dollar prize.
