The Academy Is... is a popular rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band first formed in 2002 and released their self titled EP in 2004. Their debut full length album Almost Here was released a year later on Fueled by Ramen record label. It debuted at #20 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Three singles came from this album; "Checkmarks", "Slowdown" and "The Phrase That Pays". In 2006 The Academy Is... performed at the Vans Warped Tour and began to write songs for their next album.
