Thanksgiving Stories
A traditional story often told is the story of the first Thanksgiving, which is based on an early celebration which took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. After a particularly difficult trial, the surviving pilgrims experienced a bountiful harvest thanks to the Wampanoag Tribe, who helped them learn to cultivate the land. They celebrated by sharing a feast with their Native American neighbors.National Parks Service: Historic Jamestowne: Jamestown and Plymouth: Compare and Contrast
