Thanksgiving Football Schedule

The NFL currently holds three regular-season games on Thanksgiving Day. The NFL has been hosting games on Thanksgiving day since 1920. The first game featured the Akron Pros defeating the Canton Bulldogs. The Detroit Lions made their first appearance on Thanksgiving day in 1934, then hosted a Thanksgiving game every year since with the exception of six years from 1939 to 1944. In 1966, the Dallas Cowboys joined the Lions and have played every year since. One of the games included the 1976 game of the Lions versus the Buffalo Bills, during which O.J.
