Texas Tech University is a public university located in Lubbock, Texas. The school's athletic teams compete in the Big 12 Conference.
University History
While the college was founded in 1923, its first classes were not conducted until 1925. The school earned full university status in 1969, taking the name of Texas Tech University. The university added its medical center in 1972.
