One of only four schools to win 800 college football games, the Texas Longhorns play in the South Division of the Big 12 Conference. The school has won four national championships, the most recent came in the 2005 season. The program has also produced two Heisman Trophy winners, Earl Campbell in 1977 and Ricky Williams in 1998. The team plays their home games at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on the school's campus in Austin, Texas.

Hook 'em Horns
Three national championships in school history came under legendary coach Darrell Royal in 1963, 1969 and 1970. The school also won 29 conference championships, 25 of them in the old Southwest Conference. Other great players in team history include Tommy Nobis, Vince Young, Kenneth Sims, Derrick Johnson, Cedric Benson, Roy Williams and Raymond Clayborn. -
Red River Shootout
The Longhorns have long-standing rivalries with several regional schools such as Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Arkansas. But their primary rivalry is with the Oklahoma Sooners. Each October, the two schools play at the Cotton Bowl stadium in what is referred to as the Red River Shootout, one of the most heated and longest lasting rivalries in the college football.Players in the NFL
