A 25 year old man, Pankaj Joshi, stole 67 year old Willis Willis' $1,000,000 dollar winning Mega Millions lottery ticket when he checked it at a local convenience store, Lucky's Food Store, on May 31, 2009 in Texas in a town called Grand Prairie. When Willis checked his ticket and noticed that he was the winner, the money was paid out a couple of weeks later by the Mega Millions lottery organization. The company wired the money into Joshi’s bank account unknowingly, and is struggling to get it back seeing as Joshi is reported to have fled the country.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091021/ap_on_re_us/us_lottery_disappearance
History
Joshi was reported to have never have played lottery in the entire time of working at Lucky's Food Store, and managers say it was shocking and weird that Joshi would do something like this. If found, Joshi is said to be facing up to 20 years in jail due to "claiming a lottery prize by fraud"; currently a criminal offence in the United States.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091021/ap_on_re_us/us_lottery_disappearance-
