History
The bowl, originially called the Houston Bowl was first played in 2002, with the Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 33 to 23. The first Texas Bowl was played on December 28, 2006, and featured Rutgers, from the Big East, who defeated Kansas State, from the Big 12, 37 to 10. The TCU Horned Frogs won the bowl in 2007, taking down the Houston Cougars 20 to 13. The 2008 Texas Bowl will feature teams from the Big 12 and the Conference USA.Official Site: About the Bowl-
