  • The Texas A&M University football team plays college football in the South Division of the Big 12 Conference. The Aggies won their only undisputed national championship in 1939. The school has won 19 conference championships, including the 1998 Big 12 Championship. The team plays their home games at Kyle Field on their campus in College Station. They enjoy one of the loudest home field advantages of any team in college football thanks to their "12th Man". In 2008, Mike Sherman began his first season as head coach.

    Some of the great players in the tradition of Texas A&M football include most notably the school's only Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow in 1957. Other classic players include Dat Nguyen, John Kimbrough, Ray Childress, Sam Adams, Aaron Glenn, Jack Pardee, Dave Elmendorf, Lee Roy Caffey, Lester Hayes, Richmond Webb and Jacob Green.
