  • Named for inventor Nikola Tesla, the Tesla Roadster is an electricity-powered sports car. The Roadster is built and is assembled at the Lotus plant in Hethel, England with a wider and longer frame than the Lotus Elise. It shares about 15% of the parts with the Lotus Elise. The Roadster made it's public debut on July 19, 2006 and the first production model was driven by Tesla chairman Elon Musk on February 1, 2008.
